Privacy and KVKK

This notice has been prepared under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698. Last updated: 5 October 2026.

1. Data controller

Your personal data is processed by Tarihte Maraş.

2. What data is collected?

The following information is collected through the contact form:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Your message

If you write by phone, email or social media, the content of that conversation may also be used to handle your request. Technical data such as IP address and browser details may be kept briefly for security.

3. Why is data processed?

  • To reply to your message
  • To review suggestions, corrections or collaboration requests
  • To meet legal obligations
  • To prevent form abuse and spam

Processing is based on Article 5 of KVKK: performance of a contract, legitimate interest and your consent. By submitting the form you confirm that you have read this notice.

4. Who is data shared with?

Your data is not sold. It may be shared with hosting providers when needed to operate the site, and with authorities when legally required. Messages sent via Instagram or Facebook are also subject to those platforms’ own privacy rules.

5. Retention

Form records are kept until your request is resolved and any legal retention periods expire. Data is then deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

6. Cookies

The site does not use non-essential advertising cookies outside the admin session. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

7. Your rights under KVKK

Under Article 11 of KVKK you may:

  • Learn whether your data is being processed
  • Request information if it is processed
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly
  • Know the third parties to whom data is transferred
  • Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data
  • Request deletion or destruction under Article 7 of KVKK
  • Request that these operations be notified to third parties
  • Object to a result against you arising from automated analysis
  • Request compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing

8. Security

Reasonable technical and administrative measures are taken to reduce unauthorised access. It is not possible to eliminate every risk of internet transmission.
